Located in Stafford Virginia, the Rouse Center (JRSSC) is a state-of-the-art 76,000 square foot facility that houses a 50-meter competition pool with movable bulkhead and seating for over 800 spectators, a 25-yard recreation pool, a warm-water wellness pool, a group exercise studio, fitness floor, a full-size basketball court, and a full-service cafe to serve guests.
The Rouse Center offers cycling, a variety of group exercise classes, swimming lessons, and lifeguarding. The center offers league play for adults in volleyball, basketball, Lil' Kickers soccer for children 18 months- 9 years, summer camps, clinics, classes, a J-Club kids' area for all those active kids ages 10 weeks -12 years old.
The Jeff Rouse Swim and Sports Center is managed by Eastern Sports Management (ESM) based in Fredericksburg, Virginia. ESM's management portfolio consists of venues in Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Tennessee.
JRSSC is currently looking for Cafe Attendants. The Caf Attendant is responsible for providing outstanding guest service, receiving and processing payments, and serving food and beverage items in a timely manner. In addition, the Caf Attendant is responsible for engaging with guests behind the customer service counter, as well as beyond the service counter. They will also assist the kitchen team members, as needed, to ensure quick and efficient ticket times. This part-time position reports to the Regional Food & Beverage Director.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•Operate cash register and Point of Sale (POS) System
•Operate Smoothie Station
•Engage with members and guests to include greeting customers, and providing friendly and professional service
•Provide excellent guest service
•Observe guests to anticipate their needs and respond quickly to requests
•Build rapport with members and guests
•Upsell food and beverage items
•Actively produce new ideas for business success and efficiency
•Serve food and beverage items in a timely manner
•Open and close the Front of the House (FOH)
•Clean and maintain the Front of the House
•Clean and maintain the Caf area
•Organize, stock, and control inventory
•Assist the Back of the House (BOH) team members as needed
•Constantly circulate around the dining area to maintain cleanliness and interact with the guests
•Communicate with managers regarding FOH issues
•Ability work irregular shifts to include nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
•Ability to stand and/or walk for the duration of the shift (8 or more hours)
•Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization
•Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed, required, or assigned by the Regional Food & Beverage Director and/or the General Manager

Education and/or Experience: No particular education or experience is required. Prior food preparation experience is highly preferred.
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, total sales, and change.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have working knowledge of Point of Sale systems and standard computer workstations.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess the following:
•Food Handlers Certification (within 60 days of employment)
