Senior Governance Lead, AI Data – Delta Air Lines Overview Delta Air Lines seeks a Senior Governance Lead to champion enterprise-wide Data & AI governance. The role will develop and implement governance standards, support the adoption of AI governance principles, and partner with privacy, compliance, architecture, and business stakeholders to unlock data value for AI initiatives. Responsibilities Contribute to the enterprise Data & AI governance roadmap across domains such as Customer, Flight Ops, CX, Digital, Loyalty, Finance, HR, etc. Participate in selection, implementation, and adoption of enterprise-wide data catalog, data quality, and observability solutions. Develop and support a data products marketplace. Assist business and IT units in implementing AI governance standards, ensuring AI systems are ethical, fair, transparent, and compliant with laws and regulations. Create and maintain key governance roles: Business Data Owner, Data Steward, Technical Steward. Collaborate with data producers and consumers to set data quality expectations, SLAs, and monitoring requirements. Work with business leaders and analysts to define and agree on metrics. Identify business needs and implement Data & AI Governance and Stewardship capabilities across the organization. Ensure Data & AI Governance processes align with appropriate enterprise processes. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Science, Statistics, Engineering, Business Administration, or 10 years equivalent related experience. 5+ years of data governance expertise. Knowledge of data governance practices and enterprise information asset management. Experience creating relationships with peer partners, business and IT leaders, SMEs, and technologists. Experience implementing and using data catalog tooling such as Collibra, Alation, Unity, DataZone, etc. Knowledge of AI & ML observability and guardrail tools and techniques such as model drift management. Ability to translate business requirements into critical data dependencies and requirements. Experience with Data Governance guiding bodies such as Data Governance Council. Familiarity with Data Domain organization/taxonomy and Master Data Management concepts. Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to communicate technical concepts clearly. Ability to work collaboratively across teams and interact with multiple levels of the organization, including executive-level members.
