WLI Welder

PAY RANGE $27.00 TO $32.00 per hour based on experienceSummary: Welds component parts together to form Sub-Assemblies. Responsible for assembling pieces of metal together or repairing damage in metal components using heavy machinery that emits high heat, melting the metal into shape. Their duties include reviewing blueprints, cutting metal into the appropriate shape and smoothing molten metal to remove creases.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Basic skills in computer and Microsoft applications. (Knowledge of Avante ERP system a plus)Must be able to work with minimal supervision.Ability to organize and prioritize job tasks and requirements.Ability to work in a team environment.Knowledge of raw materials including various metals and plastics. Basic reading, writing, arithmetic skills required.Ability to speak to others to convey information effectively.Ability to understand and follow directions.Must be able to read and understand blueprints.Duties and Responsibilities:Set up and operate Heliarc, Tig and Mig welding equipment. Also has some knowledge of silver soldering brazing.Works from complex drawings and performs standard computations relating to dimensions of work.Has sufficient knowledge of welding techniques to work with a minimum of supervision and exercises independent judgement within prescribed limits.Uses a wide variety of precision measuring instruments.Possesses basic welders' tools such as gloves, hood and leathers.May be required to operate machine shop equipment to correct parts to be welded and also at times when welding requirements are low.Responsible for quality control of the parts being welded.Proficient at tooling up of intricate welding fixturesWrite labor time on production orders.Responsible for quality of the finished product or services outlined above. Verifies beginning materials and resources are adequate to ensure good results.Overtime as required.This job description is not intended to be all inclusive.
