Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Junior Estimator at Verde Electric Corporation in Mount Vernon, NY. Junior Estimator position is a member of the estimating team, comprised of senior estimators and junior estimators. Junior Estimator assist in providing accurate and competitive cost estimates for electrical projects across various electrical industries.


Responsibilities

-         Review and analyze project plans, specifications, addendum and any other relevant documents

-         Assist in preparing detailed and accurate cost estimates

-         Utilize Accubid Estimating software to complete a bid

-         Utilize Bluebeam and Live-count for take-offs

-         Solicit and evaluate quotes from subcontractors and supplies/vendors

-         Collaborate with foreman to brainstorm and provide insights into the estimate and project being bid

-         Able to level bid proposals from subcontractors and vendors

Qualifications

-         Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management or electrical experience preferred

-         1-3 years of estimating experience preferred

-         Attention to detail and accuracy

-         Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks efficiently

-         Strong work ethic

-         Interpersonal, organization and leadership skills.

-         Ability to work independently with little or no supervision as well as work on a team

-         Experience with MS Office Suite

-         Experience with Accubid Estimating Software

-         Work productively and meet deadlines timely.
