It is built to connect, empower, and be owned by everyone.Location:San Francisco, California, or Munich, Germany.Position Overview:Tools for Humanity is seeking an experienced Product Counsel to join our dynamic legal team. In this pivotal role, you will provide legal advice on a wide range of issues relating to consumer protection, artificial intelligence, biometrics, privacy, financial regulations, marketing, IP, and digital currencies. This position requires a proactive individual with exceptional organizational skills, capable of managing complex matters and projects across multiple jurisdictions.Key Responsibilities:Ship product: Serve as key legal partner for various product and engineering teams and projects, advising throughout the full product lifecycle.Mitigate risk: Identify, analyze, and mitigate product, regulatory, privacy, and online safety risks across jurisdictions.Build process: Implement creative legal strategies and scalable processes for risk management, and help advance AI and cryptocurrency policy positions.Pitch in: Collaborate with cross-functional teams and advisors on US and international laws; draft terms of use and product policies; support go-to-market strategies.Qualifications:5+ years of experience in product counsel roles within the financial services or technology sectors.Demonstrated knowledge of the law relating to several of: financial services, blockchain technology, artificial intelligence, intellectual property, privacy, biometrics, online safety, marketing, and/or consumer protection.Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Proven project management skills with experience leading cross-functional initiatives.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.A proactive and collaborative team player with a positive attitude and sense of humor.Juris Doctor from a top tier law school.
