OverviewA leading eDiscovery technology and consulting firm headquartered in Washington, DC is looking for a qualified and experienced Senior Digital Forensic Analyst. We are seeking a motivated individual with a strong interest in the legal and technology fields, excellent organizational skills, and a passion for delivering top-notch service to our clients. The ideal candidate is proactive with excellent communication skills, a problem solver, and consistently reliable. This position involves both domestic and international travel for on-site collection efforts. Additionally, this position offers a hybrid work arrangement, combining remote work with in-office presence at our primary office in Washington, DC, where our forensics lab and data center are located. ResponsibilitiesIndependently perform complex forensic data collections and analysis in both on-site and remote capacityAbility to consult with and coordinate directly with legal teams/client IT departments to establish and define project scope and forensic workflowsMaintain forensic tools and technologies by staying informed on version updates and new options in the marketWork closely with project management and other team members on completing complex projects in a fast pace, deadline driven environmentContribute to the development, documentation, and enhancement of procedures to meet discovery process requirementsProvide clients with accurate project estimates and identify areas for upselling to increase department revenueAssist leaderships’ vision through process improvement, innovation, leadership, and industry trendsConsistently contribute and adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs), ensuring they are regularly reviewed, updated, and followedPerform quality control checks on work product prior to delivering to the clientComplete additional duties assigned by managerProvide guidance and training to junior forensic team members and other team members Experience & QualificationsMinimum of an undergraduate degree, preferably in Digital Forensic Science or Computer Science/Engineering6+ years of relevant experience in where the analyst understands the forensic lifecycle and can properly perform scoping activities, evidence acquisitions on a range of devices, and execute forensic analysis at an expert levelExperience using industry standard forensic tools such as Axiom, EnCase, Cellebrite, FTK Imager, Digital CollectorGeneral understanding of Mac/Windows filesystems, mobile devices, and encryptionExperience preserving desktops, laptops, mobile devices/tablets, servers, both cloud and on-premise email implementations, nontraditional cloud data sources, social media, etc. in a forensically sound mannerAbility to communicate effectively and tactfully in both verbally and in written format to team members and technical/non-technical clientsAbility to work extended hours when necessary to ensure client deadlines are metMust be willing to travel regularly on short notice; must have valid passport for occasional international travelMust be an energetic self-starter who can work within a team environment but also independently as the situation requiresAbility to document forensic workflows based on sound industry practiceWillingness to develop/train other team members to increase the group’s overall knowledge base as well as cultivate secondary resources to assist in larger collection eventsUnderstanding of the electronic discovery reference model (EDRM)Ability to submit time entries on a regular basis to meet performance metricsStrong troubleshooting skills coupled with the ability to solution on the fly to solve complex problems Preferred but not requiredPossess at least one industry standard certification (EnCE, CCE, CCFE, GCFE, GCFA, CCO, CCPA, CCME, etc.) and demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development and learningExtensive knowledge of litigation support applications (e.g. Relativity, Nuix, Google Workspace including Vault, Microsoft 365 including Purview, etc.)Experience working with structured data exported from various platforms including analysis, custom scripting, and data manipulation to develop reports for client useExperience with scripting, programming/coding, database languages (SQL, VB, HTML, Access) CompensationCompensation: Competitive salary starting at $100,000 with the potential for higher compensation based on experience, qualifications, and skills.
