Key Responsibilities: The Sheet Metal Superintendent will supervise and coordinate the material for and activities of Foremen, Journeymen and Apprentices engaged in the installation of sheet metal systems.
  • Interpret specifications, blueprints, submittals, and job orders as needed for project.
  • Assemble procurement orders for materials, equipment and tools required at each project commencement.
  • Establish and adjust work sequences to meet construction schedule, using knowledge of capacities of equipment and assigned personnel.
  • Evaluate Foreman and workers abilities and expertise to ensure the most productive job placement.
  • Study schedules and estimate man-hour requirements for completion of job.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems.
  • Maintain time records.
  • When necessary, make cost estimates for contracts.
  • Interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations.
  • Conduct timely performance appraisals for all assigned workers.
  • Follow HR procedures for hiring terminations and disciplinary actions.
  • Understand, or be willing to learn and apply, Lean principles and processes.
Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of SMACNA, Florida Building and AHCA codes. Ability to troubleshoot Test and Balance issues.
  • Adept working with coordinated shop drawings from BIM as well as remodel projects with only contract drawings.
  • Knowledge of labor tracking.
  • Completion of the apprenticeship program and appropriate journeyman experience preferred.
  • OSHA30, CPR/1st Aid, Qualified Rigging and Signaling, Forklift, Fall Protection, Scissor Lift.
  • Must be able to see well (either naturally or with correction).
  • Must be able to hear and speak clearly with professional standard grammar.
  • Must use hands, fingers, arms and legs fully; kneel, crouch and crawl; climb and balance on ladders and scaffolds; climb stairs, reach overhead; push, pull, lift and stoop.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
