We are seeking an exceptional Principal Architect to lead our Architecture Department and drive our design vision, team culture, and project excellence. Role Description: Principal Architect – Head of Architecture Department Salt Lake City, UT | Full-Time | In-Person The Principal Architect will serve as the strategic and creative leader of the Architecture Department. This role oversees all architectural deliverables, manages and mentors the architecture team, and ensures seamless coordination between Architecture, Interiors, and Operations. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver, an organized leader, and a forward-thinking designer who thrives in a fast-paced, high-standard environment. Key Responsibilities: Lead the Architecture Department with vision, clarity, and excellence. Oversee all phases of design: Programming, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documentation, and Construction Administration. Drive EHD’s design objectives and ensure every deliverable meets our luxury standard of detail, quality, and execution. Collaborate closely with Interior Design, Operations, and Ownership to ensure streamlined processes and on-brand project outcomes. Develop and implement efficient workflows, timelines, and internal systems for flawless project delivery. Mentor architects and drafters, fostering growth, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team. Provide proactive solutions to design, technical, and project-related challenges. Oversee coordination with engineers, consultants, vendors, builders, and city officials for permitting and execution. Maintain a high level of communication and professionalism with clients and project partners. Support business development by contributing to proposals, presentations, and conceptual design pitches. Qualifications: Licensed Architect (multi-state licensure or willingness to expand preferred). Minimum 5-10 years of experience in residential and/or commercial architecture, luxury experience strongly preferred. Proven leadership experience managing teams of architects, designers, and drafters. Exceptional creativity with a portfolio demonstrating forward-thinking, refined, detail-driven design work. Expert-level proficiency in: Revit, AutoCAD, 3d Rendering Software (Enscape, D5, Lumion, or Similar), Adobe Creative Suite Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple high-end projects simultaneously. Clear, proactive communicator who thrives on structure, deadlines, and accountability. Ability to problem-solve independently while also collaborating closely with Interiors and Ownership.
