Position Summary



Deloitte Energy & Industrials Research Center is part of Deloitte’s Energy, Resources & Industrials (ER&I) industry practice, representing the Energy & Chemicals; Industrial Products, A&D & Construction; and Power, Utilities & Renewables sectors.The ER&I Energy & Industrials Research Center develops and publishes research and analysis on external facing digital and accessible platforms to:Provide innovative and strategic insights to support the growth of the ER&I industry, sectors, and client portfolio via in depth analytical reports, client briefings and issue summariesPosition and evolve Deloitte’s brand with clients and the marketplaceWe are seeking a full-time power, utilities & renewables research senior manager to support the research, writing and analysis of industry issues. The primary output will be quantitative analysis and research papers that address key issues in the power and utilities industry, as well as the renewable energy industry.QualificationsEducation/Experience QualificationsBachelors Degree; Master’s degree/ MBA preferred8+ years of relevant professional experience in the power and utilities and/or renewable energy industryPrevious position in industry, management consulting, government relations, or academia preferredLimited immigration sponsorship may be availableSubject Matter QualificationsIn depth knowledge of the US power, utilities or renewables sectors is required (e.g., supply chain, metals and mining, engineering and construction)Familiarity with key industry data sourcesFacility with quantitative modeling and analytical methods is preferredResearch QualificationsAbility to work with external partners and internal cross-sectoral teams to craft effective and concise insights and research.Strong writing and editorial skills with proven ability to translate research to client perspectives and concerns.Strong analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skillsAbility to bring data modeling and other analysis to industry issuesExposure to and training in analytical methods, including: statistical methods, interpretation of statistical results; statistical software/visualization tools such as SPSS,STATA, R, or Tableau is a plusLimited immigration sponsorship may be availableAbility to travel 5-10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serveGeneralStrong people skills and communication skills with an ability to relate industry trends to the strategic thinking of senior business executives (internal and external) Strong stakeholder management skillsPublic speaking experienceStrong project management skills and an excellent attention to detailSelf-starter, independent thinker and resourcefulAbility to work effectively with others, many of whom may be geographically remoteCollegial and team-oriented; willing to pitch in and “wear many hats”Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneouslyCoaching capabilities, particularly around the research and writing processIdeal candidate located in east or central time zones including the following major cities: Boston, NYC, DC, Houston, Cleveland, Detroit, Atlanta, Chicago.For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in California, Colorado, Hawaii, Jersey City, Nevada, New York state, and Washington State, Deloitte is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to California, Colorado, Hawaii, Jersey City, Nevada, New York state, and Washington state and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $124,600 to $255,900. You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.Information for applicants with a need for accommodation:EA_ExpHire
