JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Under the direction of the Director of Nursing and in conjunction with the Director of Risk Management and Performance Improvement, implements, coordinates, and monitors the hospital wide infection control program. Plans, develops, implements, and monitors hospital-wide in-service/staff development programs. Maintains and monitors accurate, up to date, education files on all hospital employees with HR assistance. Assists Group HR Director in maintaining staff development related policies and procedures manuals. Develops mechanisms to motivate/foster employee attendance at hospital wide and department specific in-service/staff development programs. Staff must demonstrate flexibility for reassignment to units providing care to varied populations including children, adolescents, and adults.

Education: Graduate of a nursing program required; br>
Experience: 5 years clinical experience with a psych mental health population, 3 years previous clinical supervisory experience in an inpatient psych setting and administrative/management experience preferred.

Knowledge: Must possess knowledge of general and psychiatric nursing processes, therapeutic relationships and processes, age specific growth and development, limit setting, crisis and behavior management, restraint and seclusion procedures and criteria and CPR training.
