RADIATION EFFECTS ENGINEER (Security Clearance) Electrical Engineer – Nuclear Hardening & Survivability based out of Woodland Hills, CA. Overview Primary focus is on evaluation of circuit performance of various circuit types while they are exposed to radiation environments (prompt dose rate, total ionizing dose, neutron displacement damage, neutron induced upset, single event effects). The engineer leads and executes analysis and/or evaluation/validation of an electrical component, subsystem, or system analytical model or actual system implementation undergoing radiation effects. Responsibilities Assess and evaluate circuit performance under radiation environments. Use electrical circuit design knowledge to ensure operate‑through requirements are met. Develop test procedures and perform functional testing on electronic hardware for radiation testing. Prepare and present electrical engineering materials for requirements and design reviews. Provide quality internal and external customer service. Act as liaison, actively participating and contributing positively. Evaluate uncertainty and risks associated with requirements and designs. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or other STEM discipline and at least 12 years of engineering experience, or a Master’s Degree with 10 years, or a PhD with 8 years. Experience with electrical circuit radiation environments analysis and modeling (prompt dose rate, total ionizing dose, neutron displacement damage, neutron induced upset, single event effects). Experience with electrical circuit and/or system level design or test required. Broad understanding and application of company electrical engineering technical standards. Use of advanced analytical and product design engineering software tools. Ability to travel 5%. Excellent writing skills. US Citizenship required to obtain and maintain a security clearance. Preferred: Spacecraft or launch vehicle experience; active DoD Secret clearance; Ansys software experience.
