**Job Description**

A Janitor is responsible for maintaining cleanliness throughout the North40 store, product, carry-out, or freight responsibilities as assigned, and safeguarding company assets. Position Reports to assigned supervisor or Assistant Manager. The following are primary duties of the janitor:

* Service, clean, and supply restrooms.

* Run floor machine as assigned.

* Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.

* Gather and empty trash around the store.

* Clean front windows as needed.

* Make store repairs as assigned.

* Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.

* Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.

* Move heavy equipment and supplies either manually or by using hand trucks.

* Remove snow from sidewalks and parking areas, using snowplows, snow blowers, and snow shovels, and spread snow melting chemicals.

* Maintain a friendly welcoming demeanor and a professional appearance.

* Greet guests and communicate with enthusiasm and a smile. Offer assistance and refer guests questions to appropriate sales associates

**Qualifications**

* Dedicated, dependable, and hardworking

* Ability to work well with others; Team player

* Excellent customer service and communication skills

* Janitorial experience preferred

* Flexibility to work within different areas of the store

* Physical ability to lift up to 60 lbs. frequently, spend up to 100% of work time, other than breaks, standing and moving, climbing and kneeling on concrete or hard surfaces; use of forklifts, pallet jacks, ladders and rolling staircases. Consistent adherence to safety standards

* Understanding of correct lifting and loading techniques

* Must be able to meet shift requirements, including working on weekends and certain holidays, between the business hours of Mon-Sat 7am to 7pm and 9am to 5pm on Sundays with flexibility in scheduling based on business needs
