This role will support legal coverage for client-facing activities across institutional and wealth channels, with a focus on complex investment management agreements (IMAs), regulatory matters, and strategic client initiatives. This role offers the opportunity to work within a global investment advisory firm serving clients in the Americas, EMEA, and APAC. Key responsibilities Advise on regulatory issues relevant to our client-facing business, including SEC, CFTC, MiFID II, and marketing rules Support negotiation and documentation of complex client mandates Collaborate with Compliance, Client teams, and Operations to ensure legal risk is appropriately managed Monitor legal and regulatory developments and assess their impact on client advisory activities Contribute to legal enablement initiatives, including template development and process optimization Qualifications J.D. or equivalent law degree; admitted to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction 2–5 years of relevant legal experience, preference for experience in asset management or financial services Experience with legal support of Wealth initiatives preferred (e.g., marketing and limited purpose broker-dealer requirements) Strong understanding of complex legal and regulatory issues Excellent drafting, analytical, and communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced, collaborative environment Location: Boston, Needham, New York, Chicago Not sure you meet 100% of our qualifications? The base salary range for this position is: USD 100,000 - 225,000. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered when making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; role; skills and experience; certifications; and education. This range is an estimate, and further details on salary and total compensation aspects will be shared with candidates during the recruitment process. Base salary is only one component of Wellington’s total compensation approach. Other rewards may include a discretionary Corporate Bonus and/ or Incentives, if eligible.
