The Job We are seeking a strategic, analytically-minded Director with deep experience in the gaming or entertainment industry to lead audience strategy and market intelligence across our portfolio of game titles. This hybrid role sits at the intersection of Competitive Intelligence, and Marketing Analytics, and Market Research integrating insights across disciplines to guide brand strategy, product development, and go-to-market execution. The Director will serve as a strategic partner to game teams, representing the voice of the player, the competitive landscape, and marketing performance. They will translate complex data into actionable audience strategies—identifying target segments, anticipating player expectations, and inspiring brand and marketing teams with positioning, messaging, and media recommendations. The Daily Audience Strategy Develop integrated audience strategies using research, competitive, and performance data Advise product management teams on player expectations, motivations, and cultural context Recommend target segments and positioning strategies to maximize resonance and reach Embed with game teams to represent the player voice and market dynamics throughout development Market Intelligence and Insights Leadership Guide research initiatives to address strategic questions across the portfolio. Frame hypotheses, scope, and deliverables; mentor teams on research design and execution Build and maintain a centralized market data repository for cross-team use. Monitor competitive launches and emerging technologies; produce timely retrospectives and updates Strategic Planning & Forecasting Assist with marketing budgeting and forecasting Partner with Franchise Planning teams to identify portfolio gaps, growth opportunities, and strategic risks Executive Communication & Decision Support Craft concise, high-impact memos, decks, and briefings for senior leadership. Present clear options, tradeoffs, and implications to drive alignment and decisions. Demonstrate executive presence and influence across cross-functional teams. What We’re Looking For 8+ years in marketing strategy, consulting, research, or consumer insights within gaming, entertainment, or adjacent industries Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Decision Sciences, Psychology, Business, Computer Science, or related analytic field Proven experience using market insights to drive growth and inform product and brand strategy Thrives in uncertain environments and independently drives problem resolution Track record of cross-functional influence, particularly with publishing, studio, product, and marketing teams Ability to lead both the strategic vision and operational delivery of performance insights Passion for games and player-first storytelling How We Get Things Done… This last bit is probably the most important Here at WBD, our guiding principles are the core values by which we operate and are central to how we get things done. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $146,300.00 - $271,700.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
