Founded in Owensboro, KY, Valor Oil has grown from a third-generation family business to a leader in the petroleum distribution industry. Requirements

Responsibilities

•Recruit, interview, hire, and train team members and assistant store managers.

•Oversee daily store operations, including cash handling, bookkeeping, and inventory control.

•Investigate and resolve cash and inventory variances while ensuring security procedures are followed.

•Monitor and analyze financial performance, sales trends, and expense control to meet profit goals.

•Ensure compliance with company policies, merchandising strategies, and operational procedures.

•Work with vendors to negotiate pricing, quality, and service agreements.

•Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and a well-lit, safe environment for customers and employees.

•Provide leadership, coaching, and performance evaluations to develop a strong team.

•Handle customer concerns and ensure a high level of service and satisfaction.

•Participate in community engagement activities to strengthen customer relationships.

Requirements

•Must demonstrate a strong understanding of and commitment to safety protocols in the workplace.

•A safety-first mindset is required. Candidates must be willing to follow safety guidelines and complete safety training as needed.

•Must demonstrate a strong work ethic and be reliable in attendance and punctuality

•Effective verbal and written communication skills are required for interacting with team members, customers, and management.

•Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and maintain a positive working relationship.

•Must possess critical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify issues and find solutions effectively.

•Attention to detail and accuracy in performing tasks, following procedures, and meeting deadlines.

•High school diploma required; business-related education preferred.

•Retail management experience strongly desired.

•Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

•Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.

•Ability to recruit, train, and manage a team effectively.

•Proficiency in handling cash, inventory control, and merchandising.

•Ability to perform manual labor as needed for store operations.

•Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation.

•Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle customer concerns professionally.

•Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
