Job Details: IP Patent Agent - Silicon Valley, CA Firm: AM Law 100 firm Responsibilities Patent Prosecution: Draft, file, and prosecute patent applications with the USPTO, including preparing detailed invention descriptions, claims, and responses to office actions. Technical Analysis: Evaluate invention disclosures and conduct prior art searches to assess patentability and develop patent strategies. Client Support: Collaborate with inventors and clients (startups, corporations) to provide technical and patent-related guidance, explaining complex concepts clearly. Documentation: Prepare accurate patent documents, ensuring compliance with USPTO regulations and deadlines. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technical or scientific field (engineering, computer science, biology, chemistry). Advanced degrees or preferred. Patent Bar: Must be registered with the USPTO by passing the patent bar exam (or hired as a technical specialist with intent to pursue registration). Experience: 1–4 years of experience in patent prosecution or related technical fields preferred. Industry experience is a plus.
