Food Service Cafeteria Worker 5.5 hr

Description of Duties:
(The essential functions or duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment to the position.)
- Performs a variety of duties related to the school food service program, to maintain food service facilities in a clean and sanitary condition.
- Participates in the cooking and preparation of a wide variety of food items including main dishes, baked goods, sandwiches and salads.
- Set up serving areas and steam tables; serve food to students and faculty.
- Count milk and other food items as assigned.
- Adhere to safe and sanitary working practices and procedures. Must be "ServSafe" certified.
- Collect money and make change. Use a cash register effectively.
- Operate a variety of standard kitchen equipment including but not limited to oven, slicer, mixer, steam table, warmer, fryolator and steamer.
- Assure food items and supplies are stored properly.
- Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Must be able to read and understand how to follow a recipe.
- Must be able to stand for the duration of the work shift.
- Must be able to lift 40lbs.
- Communicate both written and verbally with students and adults effectively.
- Eligible to participate in professional development classes when offered.
Salary: As per the Food Services contract.
