Deputy Director of Development / SharePoint Developer Deputy Director of Development / SharePoint Developer – City of New York The New York City Department of Investigation (DOI) is a law‑enforcement agency dedicated to combating municipal corruption. The DOI serves the people of New York City as an independent, non‑partisan watchdog for city government, agencies, employees and vendors. Responsibilities Design, develop and manage SharePoint solutions to support business processes, collaboration, and document management across the organization. Provide leadership, including project management, stakeholder coordination and team oversight. Act as the Digital Accessibility Officer to ensure all digital products (websites and applications) are usable by people with disabilities. Minimum Qualifications A master’s degree in computer science from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of progressively responsible, full‑time IT experience in areas such as applications development, systems development, data communications and networking, database administration, data processing, or user services. At least eighteen (18) months of that experience must have been in an administrative, managerial or executive capacity. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and four (4) years of progressively responsible, full‑time IT experience as described above. A four‑year high school diploma or equivalent, and six (6) years of progressively responsible, full‑time IT experience as described above. A satisfactory combination of education and experience equivalent to any of the above options. All candidates must have a four‑year high school diploma or equivalent and possess at least three (3) years of experience in the areas above, including eighteen (18) months of administrative, managerial, executive or supervisory experience. Preferred Skills Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; 5+ years of experience in SharePoint development (SharePoint Online and/or SharePoint Server); strong knowledge of SharePoint Framework (SPFx), Power Automate, Power Apps, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, and REST APIs; experience managing SharePoint environments, including permissions, governance and site administration; proven leadership or project management experience; strong understanding of the Microsoft 365 ecosystem and integration capabilities; excellent communication, planning and problem‑solving skills; knowledge of accessibility standards and ability to identify and resolve accessibility issues; expertise in Azure services or DevOps for SharePoint; advanced skills in Power Automate and Power Apps; ability to connect SharePoint to SQL databases, APIs and external systems; background in digital transformation or change management initiatives; knowledge of digital accessibility standards and assistive technology; professional certifications such as CPACC or WAS are beneficial but not required. 55(a) Program This position is open to qualified persons with a disability who are eligible for the 55‑a Program.
