OverviewSurgical Technologist - Baroness Hospital - GI Lab - Full-timeThe Surgical Technologist is a specifically trained scrub technologist who, under the direction of a Registered Nurse, serves as a vital member of the OR team, responsible for direct and indirect care of the surgical patient.ResponsibilitiesFunctions as a member of the surgical team responsible for obtaining surgical supplies, preparation of the surgical field and maintenance of procedure sterility.Collaborates with medical, anesthesia, managerial, nursing and clinical staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes.Demonstrates knowledge and skills to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served, and supports the department philosophy and objectives.QualificationsEducation: High School education or equivalent.Required: Must maintain certification as a surgical technologist from a national certifying body recognized by the health facilities commission; or obtain such certification no later than eighteen (18) months after completing a surgical technology program; or documented evidence of surgical technology training through the U.S. Armed Forces, National Guard, or U.S. Public Health Service in lieu of certification; or qualify as recognized by the State of TN.Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification completed prior to going to unit/department and maintained thereafter.Position DetailsDepartment/Location: Erlanger Baroness Hospital, Chattanooga, TNStandard Hours: RegularSeniority level: Entry levelEmployment type: Full-timeJob function: Health Care ProviderIndustries: Hospitals and Health Care #J-18808-Ljbffr
