Job Title Endoscopy Technician – Per Diem Days Employer JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute Location Southern Ocean Medical Center, Manahawkin, New Jersey Overview We coordinate and implement the endoscopy maintenance and cleaning program for Peri-Operative Services and provide backup to Central Processing Department as needed. Responsibilities Maintains endoscopy equipment. Transfers equipment using proper body mechanics. Assists Central Processing Department as needed and performs the role of 7385 Central supply Technician as needed. Maintains performance improvement measures for endoscopy in Perioperative Department. Identifies the needs of the patient population served and modifies and delivers care that is specific to those needs. Adheres to the standard identified in the Medical Center's Organizational Competencies. Gets competency tool completed when learning a new modality. Adheres to policy and procedure for reprocessing scopes and the manufacturer's recommendations. Wears PPE including gown, gloves and mask. Leak testing. Manual cleaning. High level disinfection. Changing filters. Keeps logs up to date. Recognizes need to order cleaning supplies. Lets the charge nurse know of any problems with the reprocessing process. Calls equipment tech support as needed. Sends scopes out for repairs, when necessary. Aware of the potential for exposure to hazardous materials. Knows where to find the MSDS for such materials and takes precautions. Compensation Minimum rate of $20.32 hourly. The posted rate is a reasonable good faith estimate and does not reflect the full value of our market‑competitive total rewards package.
