Base pay range $276,000.00/yr - $276,000.00/yr About the position PAGNY is hiring a Unit Chief for the Inpatient Psychiatry department at NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi. Jacobi, located in the Bronx, handles over 325,000 outpatient visits, 100,000 emergency visits, and 20,000 inpatient admissions annually. It is known for its Trauma Center, Breast Health Center, and Burn Center, with a strong academic affiliation with Albert Einstein Medical College. The Department of Psychiatry offers 89 adult inpatient beds, a CPEP, a Consultation-Liaison Service, and community programs. The Unit Chief oversees daily operations, collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, and ensures high-quality, patient-centered care. Key responsibilities Establish and oversee interdisciplinary teams and meetings. Ensure therapeutic groups and community meetings occur as scheduled. Lead behavioral and medical emergency responses. Provide direct patient care and documentation. Monitor patient care, discharge planning, and legal statuses. Supervise clinical staff and participate in case discussions. Ensure timely chart completion and participate in quality assurance activities. Assist in regulatory compliance and accreditation preparations. Collaborate with utilization management for patient care authorizations. Ensure adequate psychiatric coverage and participate in risk management.
