Join to apply for the Family Finding Specialist role at City of Winchester, Virginia Local Government Duties and Responsibilities Identify and Engage Relatives: Locate, contact, and build relationships with family and fictive kin to create a network of care for children in foster care Conduct Comprehensive Assessments: Gather and analyze family history, strengths, and resources to develop individualized plans that prioritize kinship connections and permanency Collaborate with Caseworkers and Community Partners: Work closely with child welfare staff to connect children in foster care to family Other duties as assigned Requirements Bachelor’s degree in a human services field or minimum of a bachelor’s degree in any related field and completion of required training programs or equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities 2 years of experience in an assigned program area Possession of a BSW or MSW degree and a Commonwealth of Virginia Social Work License preferred Valid driver’s license Equal Opportunity Statement The City of Winchester is an Equal Opportunity Employer and will consider all qualified applicants without regard to race, color, age, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, genetic information, national origin, disability, protected veteran status or any other classification protected by law.
