OverviewJohnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine is recruiting for a Director, R&D Data Science and Digital Health (DSDH) Immunology Real World Evidence (RWE). This position can be located in one of our US locations: Spring House, PA; Cambridge, MA; New Brunswick, NJ; Raritan, NJ; Titusville, NJ; or San Diego, CA. Hybrid schedule option: 3 days on-site and 2 days remote. Example: collaborate with the Disease Area Stronghold (DAS) Leaders and Compound Development Teams (CDT) to develop the RWE DSDH strategy to improve early and late-phase clinical study designs by supporting novel patient identification/selection of endpoints (e.g., identification of at-risk patient populations through development of novel predictive algorithms)Serve as a key liaison to functional area partners and provide support for collaborations with DSDH, Epidemiology, Discovery and other internal functional areas to ensure alignment on key DSDH programmatic goals aligned with the Immunology therapeutic areaExecute the DSDH RWE strategy across a matrixed cross-functional CDT and the Clinical TeamProvide strategic leadership on managing/addressing project/program-related issues and present to and negotiate with leadership teams on development plans or program-related issuesParticipate in and may lead cross-functional teams for evaluation of new scientific opportunities, disease areas, product ideas, and implement franchise business strategiesProvide input into diligence activitiesParticipate or lead cross-departmental or cross-functional projects with broad Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine impactAuthor abstracts and scientific manuscripts for publication based on clinical trial data, real-world data, observational studies, etc.Build credible relationships with opinion leaders and may act as company spokesperson regarding publication of research findings and presentations to health authorities and advisory meetingsRequired QualificationsPhD, PharmD, or MD (or equivalent) in statistics, bioinformatics, computational biology, epidemiology, applied mathematics, computer science, physics, engineering or related fields; consideration may be given for candidates with a Masters and at least 10 years of experience8+ years of progressive experience in pharmaceutical R&D, data science, digital health, including life sciences companies or consulting firms with established healthcare Data Science practicesProven collaboration in a matrix organization with entrepreneurial spirit and ability to influence and engage strategic and technical partnersFamiliarity with data science and digital healthExperience with healthcare datasets (e.g., EHR, insurance claims)Preferred SkillsStrong background in RWE/Data Science & Digital HealthKnowledge of Immunology is strongly preferredExperience delivering data science projects using predictive technologies, data mining and/or text miningExperience analyzing or handling healthcare datasets (EHR, claims, registry)Experience with data science tools and languages (SQL, Python, R, etc.)Experience with defining use cases for deep learning, foundational models, and machine learningOtherHybrid schedule option: 3 days on-site and 2 days remote (no fully remote option). The Company maintains competitive, performance-based compensation programs. This position is eligible for an annual performance bonus. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and group insurance options.
