Pay rate: $48.89/ hr
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
To obtain samples, prepare the samples, and analyze the samples for chemical and radioanalytical analysis from plant systems.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Record and trend data from the chemical analysis.
- Notify chemistry management for out of specification conditions and adverse trends.
- Respond to operations chemistry needs.
- Support environmental sampling by obtaining, preparing, analyzing, and shipping samples off site, as required.
- Perform the on-shift chemistry technician emergency plan duties.
- Perform inventories of chemicals, equipment, and supplies.
- Maintain the laboratory and instruments in top material condition with good housekeeping.
- Perform self-monitoring of radiation dose equivalent and perform associated radiological surveys for chemistry related tasks.
- As required, to changeout gas bottles for chemical and counting room instrument to change resin columns for laboratory demineralized water systems and to replace chart paper on recorders.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma or GED
- Ability to pass pre-employment EEI TECH testing
- Ability to work different shifts
- Ability to receive unescorted Nuclear access
- Excellent communication, teamwork and organizational skills
- AND at least one of the following requirements below:
- o Bachelor degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, or equivalent degree OR
- o Two years work experience in chemistry OR
- o Navy nuclear experience as an Engineering Lab Technician (ELT)
