What to Expect The Mobile team within Tesla's Vehicle Software organization is seeking a highly motivated engineer to help shape the future of autonomous transportation through exceptional mobile experiences. As a core contributor to the Tesla and Robotaxi mobile apps, you will be instrumental in building the user-facing features that define how millions of people interact with fully autonomous vehicles. This team is at the forefront of Tesla's Robotaxi initiative, owning the core mobile experience that enables customers to summon, track, and interact with a driverless vehicle. From requesting a ride to enabling frictionless entry, from trip planning to real-time vehicle status and media control, your work will power the interface between users and their autonomous rides. You will take full ownership of features—from architecture design to robust implementation—delivering delightful and polished experiences that make Robotaxi not just functional, but magical. In addition to working on groundbreaking Robotaxi features, you'll also contribute to the broader Mobile App experience used by millions of Tesla owners worldwide. What You’ll Do Design, code, debug and own features from concept to release for the Robotaxi and Tesla mobile apps, primarily on Android. Work closely with design, firmware, vehicle UI, and backend teams to create seamless interactions between users and robotaxis. Own the full development lifecycle of mobile features: requirements, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance. Contribute to the evolution of the mobile architecture to support future Robotaxi scalability and reliability. Continuously improve app performance, usability, and customer delight. What You’ll Bring Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar areas of study, or equivalent experience. 2+ years of experience in Android Development. You are passionate about Android as a platform and know what features you would want on the Tesla Android apps. Proficient in Kotlin, Java, React Native. Familiar with Typescript or JavaScript. Experience with React/React Native is preferred. Excellent grasp of fundamental computer science concepts, good at solving complex technical problems. Experience using common design patterns. Expected Compensation: $111,200 – $433,680 annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits.
