Stantec is looking for a passionate and experienced Senior Civil Engineer to lead and mentor our Portland-based civil engineering team. If you’re energized by leadership, mentorship, and technical excellence, and you’re ready to grow your career with a team that puts people first and lives their values every day, we’d love to meet you.What You’ll DoLead and inspire our local civil engineering teamMentor junior staff and support their professional developmentOversee the development of civil design documentation, including plans, specifications, and reportsPrepare permitting documentation for stormwater systems through local jurisdictionsConduct quality reviews for construction plans, agency submittals, and engineering reportsProduce engineering calculations for stormwater, potable water, and sanitary sewer systemsParticipate in project coordination meetings with internal and external stakeholdersMaintain clear and consistent communication within multidisciplinary teamsSupport construction administration tasks such as reviewing shop drawings, responding to RFIs, and preparing site observation reportsAssist in selecting civil systems and materialsContribute to value engineering and basic cost estimatingUse standard software tools to analyze and design civil system componentsWhat You BringA client-focused mindset and natural leadership skillsA self-starter attitude with strong attention to detailExcellent communication skills and a collaborative spiritThe ability to think creatively and critically in a team settingStrong spatial visualization skills and the ability to interpret technical drawingsInitiative and coordination skills across design disciplinesProficiency in Microsoft Office and a willingness to learn tools such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS, AdlCPR, StormCAD, and WaterCADQualificationsBachelor’s degree in civil engineering (advanced degree preferred)Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 6 monthsMinimum of 10 years of experience in civil engineering and designWhy Stantec?We put people first.
