Gas Trader or Senior Gas Trader

Title: Gas Trader or Senior Gas Trader Company: Peoples Gas System State and City: Florida - Tampa Shift: 8 Hr. About the Role We are seeking a talented Gas Trader or Senior Gas Trader to join our team. In this role, you will support gas supply and wholesale origination activities, focusing on the administration, scheduling, and trading of natural gas and transportation on upstream pipelines. You'll play a key part in ensuring reliable gas delivery, optimizing portfolio performance, and driving business excellence. Key Responsibilities For Gas Trader: Schedule daily gas supply and transportation on upstream pipelines. Confirm gas supply deliveries to the company's distribution system. Purchase and sell spot gas and manage daily imbalances. Market upstream capacity through wholesale sales or capacity release. Develop and maintain daily/monthly operational reports. Monitor market conditions, operations, and pipeline constraints. Collaborate closely with team members in an open trade floor environment. For Senior Gas Trader (in addition to above): Develop and execute daily strategy and portfolio optimization. Maximize gains through profitable, low-risk transactions. Trade natural gas (physical, options) within risk management guidelines. Provide mentoring and technical guidance to Gas Schedulers and Gas Traders. Present analysis and initiatives to management and assist with strategic decisions. What You Need to Succeed Gas Trader: High School Diploma from an accredited institution. Minimum 6 years of related experience, including 2 years in natural gas or power trading. Strong knowledge of interstate pipeline electronic nominations. Analytical skills and ability to make quick decisions under pressure. Senior Gas Trader: High School Diploma or equivalent (bachelor's degree in business or related field preferred). Minimum 8 years of related experience, including 2 years in energy commodity trading. Advanced knowledge of trading tools and indices (OTC, NYMEX). Strong negotiation, leadership, and strategic thinking skills. Experience presenting analysis and owning portfolio results. Why Join Peoples Gas? Incident Response Assignment Our community relies on Peoples Gas to respond swiftly and effectively to all types of incidents, including but not limited to major storm events (e.g., extreme cold, tropical storms, hurricanes), gas leaks, equipment failures, environmental hazards, and other emergencies that may impact public safety or service continuity. Peoples Gas depends on each team member to fulfill their primary and/or alternate roles and responsibilities during such incidents. As a Team Member of Peoples Gas, you will be assigned anIncident Response Assignment, receivetrainingrelated to your role, and may participate inmock drills or exercisessimulating various emergency scenarios.
