Position Overview Care Center Cincinnati is a Specialty & Emergency facility located in beautiful southwest Ohio. We are seeking an experienced and passionate Medical Director to lead our dedicated team. Core Job Duties Oversee provision of medical care, supporting innovation and cutting‑edge practices. Develop and maintain medical policies, including infection control and patient safety. Investigate patient safety concerns and support quality improvement initiatives. Champion a patient and client‑centric approach through policy development. Address client and RDVM complaints professionally and in a timely manner. Provide clinical leadership by example, ensuring high‑quality medicine and outstanding client experiences. Team Development Develop a team‑oriented approach to patient care in collaboration with the Hospital Director. Recruit and retain high‑quality veterinarians, overseeing engagement and retention metrics. Conduct annual performance evaluations and manage concerns regarding DVM performance. Support internal and external medical educational opportunities, mentorship, and development plans. Lead staff meetings. Community and Communication Ensure effective communication within the hospital and foster positive relationships with referring veterinarians. Monitor work email for pertinent information and maintain a respectful and inclusive hospital environment. Represent the hospital at various internal and external meetings and other leadership opportunities. Hospital Operations and Compliance Oversee a number of doctors; support staff is supervised by HD. 50% administrative time, 50% clinical. Schedule: flexibly attend to the hospital’s needs as required. Manage hospital budget and Cap Ex in partnership with the HD. Identify areas for growth and develop plans for new services. Provide medical input into hospital development, marketing, and equipment selection. Ensure timely and accurate completion of medical records and compliance with regulations. Attend leadership training and maintain compliance with state and federal regulations. Required Qualifications DVM or equivalent degree. Licensed to practice veterinary medicine in Ohio. Excellent organizational, administrative, and leadership skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Previous administrative experience. Minimum of five years of clinical practice experience. Advanced leadership training. Experience mentoring and teaching junior veterinarians.
