Answers questions and complaints from the public and represents the City Clerk for official functions in his/her absence. Performs secretarial work for City Council, Municipal Code Enforcement Board, and Board of Adjustment, and other volunteer Boards as required. Must exercise initiative and independent judgment in accordance with established policies and procedures. Work is performed under the City Clerk’s direction and is reviewed through observation, conferences, and results. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Appointment will be solely on basis of clerical and administrative abilities. Employee must develop a thorough knowledge of ordinances, policies and procedures of the City. Knowledge of legal requirements, organization, function of and activities of municipal government. Knowledge of and adherence to the legal requirements of public notices and the Sunshine Law. Knowledge of procedures employed in City Elections. Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with City officials, employees and the general public. Must be proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office . Training, Certification, and Experience High school graduate or equivalent supplemented by college level course work in business or public administration. Must have considerable experience in Municipal government with extensive public contact and possess excellent word processing skills. Possession of the IIMC designation of Certified Municipal Clerk is preferred. Special Requirements The City of Temple Terrace is a drug-free workplace. A pre-employment drug screen, criminal history background investigation, and a driver’s license verification may be conducted.
