Remote but candidate must travel onsite on a as needed basis once in a month or quarter The Data Architect position is focused on data management, includes the oversight of vendors supporting legacy on-prem database systems (Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server) as well as cloud database systems (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, Snowflake) with areas of expertise to include version monitoring, upgrades, auditing, patch support, design, configuration, trouble shooting and ETL and reporting tools. This position will also include review of new and ongoing projects affecting the data tier including data sources, storage, access, and security controls for our protected data in all environments. Job Responsibilities Review existing implementations of on-prem and cloud RDMS for best practices and design issues Provide guidance and recommendations on changes to database configurations to ensure up-to-date and positive user experience in databases. Oversee issue research and troubleshooting issues impacting all database systems. Ability to collaborate with multi vendors to solve complex data related issues and interoperability constraints. Oversight of all database auditing policies and procedures Examine and identify database structural necessities by evaluating required documentation and database designs. Analyze the proposed implementation of databases to ensure that they are effective database solutions and models to store and retrieve data efficiently and securely Offer support by responding to system problems in a timely manner Basic Qualifications 3 to 5 years experience with Cloud RDMS (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Snowflake) in either support or design areas of responsibility 3 years of relational database and data warehouse design and support experience 3 years of cloud database cost optimization experience 3-5 years of hands?on experience with AWS Cloud IAM Oracle RDBMS, ASM, RMAN 3-5 years hands?on experience with SQL Server RDBMS 3-5 years hands?on experience with Power BI 3-5 years hands on with SSAS, SSMS, Visual Studio and C# Experience with Oracle a plus, especially in migration projects away from Oracle products Excellent communication skills required, including the ability to communicate with upper management on complex technical topics.
