Senior embedded software engineer

Embedded Engineering is looking for a senior embedded software engineer to expand our team in Rijswijk (on the northern edge of Delft).About the jobWe are looking for an enthusiastic and capable senior embedded software engineer who can take responsibility for all aspects of software development for microcontrollers, DSPs and other embedded processors. You will be involved in our projects in the Defense and Security industry, acting as one of the lead software engineers in the team. The team you will be working in consists of a project manager, system engineer, multiple embedded software engineers and one or more hardware engineers.Embedded Engineering is a small and dynamic high-tech company that focuses on product development for Defence and Security applications. Your starting salary will depend on your experience and qualifications. Fulltime employment at Embedded Engineering is 40 hours per week. Parttime employment (with a minimum of 24 hours per week) is possible. You will receive an annual pay rise depending on performance relative to your targets, that are agreed upon annually.ResponsibilitiesYour responsibilities will include:Take on a leading role in the software team within a projectDefine and monitor software planning (together with the project manager)Management and training of junior software engineersDevelop embedded software in C, C++ and/or other languagesIndividually carry responsibility for documentation and testing of your codeReport progress to project managers, and maintain status of your tasks in our agile project management tools.Identify and work on areas for improvement in the company’s software development processSkillsThe following skills are required for this position:Excellent proficiency in at minimum C and/or C++Experience with Agile or similar software development methodologiesUnderstanding of low-power embedded software designKnowledge of interfacing protocols and embedded systems concepts such as SAI, SPI, USB, I2C, encryption schemes, bootloaders, RTOS, Linux and unit testingGeneral understanding of programmable hardware components (gauges, USB controllers, power delivery, radio's)The following skills are not required but preferred:Experience with wireless/RF systemsUnderstanding of (embedded) AI model implementation.Experience coding for FPGAs in VHDL or VerilogImplementation of analysis and signal processing algorithmsQualifications and educationThe following education requirements apply for this position:Required: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical engineering, embedded systems, applied physics or similarOR: relevant work experience equivalent to the technical fields aboveExperienceEight years of experience with embedded software developmentFive years of experience working in multidisciplinary project teamsAbout Embedded EngineeringEmbedded Engineering focuses on developing high-tech for Defence and Security applications.
