Job Title: Maintenance Technician


Shift: 2nd Shift


Position Summary:

The Maintenance Technician I plays a key role in supporting research, development, and manufacturing operations by applying scientific, engineering, and mathematical principles. They assist in quality control, product design, development, and production. The technician ensures that machinery and equipment in a facility are functioning optimally through repairs, installations, and preventive maintenance.


Responsibilities:

  • Maintain facility and equipment in designated focus areas.
  • Install, modify, and repair manufacturing machinery, plant support equipment, facility structures, and grounds.
  • Troubleshoot maintenance and process problems, developing corrective actions as needed.
  • Assist manufacturing to meet safety, productivity, and quality targets, and support Kaizen (continuous improvement) initiatives.
  • Maintain and improve 5S (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) and TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) activities.
  • Participate in downtime reduction initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Minimum 3 years of electrical or mechanical experience in a manufacturing environment, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanics.


Qualifications:

  • Ability to work effectively with co-workers, subordinates, and supervisors.
  • Physically able to handle lifting up to 50 lbs. repeatedly, with activities such as standing, walking for long periods, climbing, stooping, kneeling, and working overhead.
  • Strong technical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Flexible and able to manage multiple changing priorities.


Preferred:

  • Welding and fabrication experience.
  • Welding or electrical certification.


Work Environment:

  • The role is largely based on the manufacturing floor (80-100% of the time).
  • The work environment is fluid and fast-paced, with no travel required.
