Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our site maintenance group at Mairetta, GA. This role supports all aspects of the site, including production, shipping, receiving, facilities maintenance, tank maintenance, logistics, and Technical Services & Development (TS&D). The ideal candidate should have a strong mechanical background, preferably with welding or pipe fitting experience, and a commitment to safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Abide strictly by safety regulations during all maintenance and manufacturing activities.
- Perform maintenance tasks at heights using ladders, manlifts, or scaffolding.
- Operate forklifts and manlifts safely and efficiently.
- Install, repair, and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment.
- Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation.
- Dismantle machinery and remove/replace defective parts.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings accurately.
- Inspect and assess the functionality of production machines.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair machinery problems.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and downtime.
- Coordinate and prioritize work orders to minimize production downtime.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of spare parts and supplies.
- Read equipment manuals and interpret them to understand proper operation and maintenance.
- Inspect newly acquired equipment to ensure they meet industry standards before use.
- Carry out routine servicing of equipment to prevent breakdowns and malfunctions.
- Keep records of maintenance activities to track equipment lifespan.
- Communicate with management or clients to inform them about equipment faults and recommend maintenance techniques.
- Prioritize daily work orders according to their importance.
- Move furniture, paint, and hang pictures as needed
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous welding or pipe fitting experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of mechanical maintenance processes.
- Critical thinking ability to troubleshoot and detect malfunctions.
- Discipline to execute tasks without procrastination.
- Good time management skills to handle work orders and demands efficiently.
- Ability to handle basic tools safely.
- Knowledge of safety precautions.
- Good interpersonal skills for effective teamwork and communication.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certifications or vocational training in mechanical maintenance preferred.
Tools and Equipment Utilized:
- Forklifts
- Manlifts
- Basic hand tools
- Welding equipment (if applicable)
- Mechanical devices and machinery
Safety Requirements:
- Follow all safety regulations and protocols.
- Participate in safety training and meetings.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical certifications or vocational training in mechanical maintenance preferred.
- 1-3 years of relevant maintenance experience in an industrial setting.
Key Deliverables:
- Efficient and safe execution of maintenance tasks.
- Minimized production downtime through effective troubleshooting and repair.
- Accurate and timely completion of work orders.
- Well-maintained and inventoried spare parts and supplies.
- Comprehensive records of maintenance activities and equipment lifespan.
