POSITION SUMMARY
This position provides direction for the sanitation crew within a certain area of the plant. This position is trained in multiple jobs, can assist with training team members and provides support as requested by the supervisor in that area. Due to the nature of this work, you must be 18 years of age or older to apply.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Work cooperatively with PSSI management, team members, customers and regulatory agencies to ensure sanitation procedures are followed.
Maintain open communications with all team members in the plant. Meet with the Supervisor on a regular basis to ensure all issues are being properly handled and addressed including missing or damaged parts and equipment.
Clean and sanitize equipment and workspace in a designated area of the plant.
Ensure team members in assigned area are completing job tasks to QA and USDA standards. Inspect equipment to ensure all areas are clean for pre-op inspections.
Handle chemicals to ensure usage is within specified limits.
Monitor and provide PPE.
Other duties as assigned.
JOB PERFORMANCE MEASURES
This position requires compliance with company policies and procedures. Specific goals and expectations will be established on an annual basis and continually measured in the following categories:
Reduction or elimination of downtime and damage
Accurate and timely counts of supply and chemical inventory
Reduction in team member turnover
Successful third party audit participation
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
The position requires leadership skills, decision making, safety awareness and conflict resolution. The position requires attributes of integrity, honesty, initiative and customer focus.
QUALIFICATIONS-EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
6 months to a year in sanitation/food processing industry
Due to the nature of this work, you must be 18 years of age or older to apply.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Wet, hot, cold, usually second or third shift
Other Physical Requirements
Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (Rain Gear)
