General Purpose The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate greets all customers in a courteous and friendly manner, treats fellow associates with respect, follows all company best‑practice standards, maintains a clean work area at all times, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. Essential Functions Practice safe behaviors and maintain a safe environment for all customers and associates. Maintain a high level of awareness on the sales floor, keep egress clear and immediately correct or report any unsafe conditions. Treat all customers and associates with respect and courtesy; greet customers with eye contact, a smile and a friendly “hello”. Assist customers with merchandise, answer questions politely and knowledgeably, and handle all customer issues in a courteous and helpful way. Represent and support the company brand at all times. Perform cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters and mirrors, replenishing restroom supplies, and disinfecting high‑touch areas. Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to the company’s dress code. Perform daily assigned sizing and recovery per company best practice. Expedite newly received merchandise receipts to the sales floor with a sense of urgency and maintain merchandise/brand familiarity. Understand and follow the Loss Prevention Awareness program, the Shortage Highway, and standard merchandise protection procedures. Safeguard confidential information, cash, credit card information and merchandise; protect store assets. Follow all cash, check, point‑of‑sale and refund transaction policies and procedures. Maximize productivity by executing all store best practices and minimizing steps and touches in workflow. Physical Requirements / ADA Considerations Use all store equipment, including POS terminals, registers and PCs as required. Stand, walk and move around the store up to 100% of the working time. Perform regular bending at the waist, squatting, kneeling, climbing, carrying, reaching and stooping. Occasionally push, pull or lift more than 25 pounds. Use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders and other assigned supplies as necessary. Stockroom shifts: push, pull or lift more than 20 pounds.
