Tenure‑Track Faculty 2025‑2026 – Johns Hopkins University Johns Hopkins University has made a major new investment in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (AI). The investment will add 150 new faculty positions, including 30 Bloomberg Distinguished Professorships, and will establish a new Data Science and AI Institute (DSAI Institute). A new half‑million square foot building and an unparalleled computational infrastructure is being constructed, positioning Johns Hopkins as one of the largest and leading engineering schools with a top AI research program. This expansion will double the Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics from 20 full‑time regular faculty in 2023 to 40 by 2028. This search is to fill faculty positions in the DSAI Institute. Applicants will have a tenure home in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics (and possibly another Whiting School of Engineering department) and will support one or more of the following cross‑departmental DSAI clusters: Foundational methods of Machine Learning, Data Science, and Artificial Intelligence Embodied AI Systems Health and Medicine Scientific Discovery Engineered AI systems People, Policy, Governance, and Ethics of AI Security and Safety of Autonomous Systems Preference will be given to candidates whose research has made an impact on data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. Outstanding candidates at all academic ranks will be considered. We anticipate making multiple offers. Eligibility Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields and will be expected to establish a strong, independent, multidisciplinary, and internationally recognized research program. Salary Range Assistant Professors: $150,000–$200,000Associate Professors: $180,000–$245,000Full Professors: $200,000–$450,000 (12‑month FTE) To support dual careers, Johns Hopkins offers programs that facilitate spousal/partner placement within the university and the broader Baltimore/Washington area.
