The Janitorial Maintenance Worker is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in assigned areas, ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for all occupants. Duties include routine cleaning, sanitizing, and maintenance tasks across various facilities, including restrooms, hallways, offices, cafeterias, gyms, and specialty rooms.

Salary: 19.54/hr

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Prior experience in janitorial or maintenance work is preferred.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment and use cleaning supplies effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions.
• Good physical stamina and the ability to perform repetitive tasks.
• Excellent communication skills and a customer service-oriented attitude.

Working Conditions:

• Physical demands include standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
• May be required to work flexible hours, including early mornings or late evenings.

This position ensures that all facilities are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and safety, contributing to the overall well-being of facility users.

Responsibilities:

Restroom Cleaning:

• Empty all receptacles and replace liners daily.
• Clean and disinfect sinks, urinals, and toilets daily.
• Sanitize toilets and urinals with an approved germicidal cleaner daily.
• Replenish lavatory dispensers from the customer's stock daily.
• Wash all mirrors, vanity tops, and dispensers daily.
• Polish all bright work daily.
• Sweep, mop, and disinfect floors daily.
• Wipe doors as needed and sanitize all doorknobs daily.
• Dust tops of all partitions weekly.
• Dust and vacuum all ceiling vents weekly.

Hallway & Entrance Cleaning:

• Sweep and/or dust mop non-carpeted areas daily.
• Wet mop all traffic lanes daily.
• Clean all entrance glass daily.
• Vacuum all carpeted areas using a HEPA vacuum daily.
• Sweep and pick up any debris on stairs and landings daily.
• Remove empty cardboard boxes from halls, break them down, and put them in the dumpster daily.
• Clean and disinfect vision panels on doors daily.
• Dust any furniture in the entrance area daily.
• Conduct an in-depth sweep and mop of floors, corners, and behind doors daily.
• Disinfect handles daily.
• Dust walls, vents, fireboxes, exit signs, and door frames weekly.
• Spot clean carpeting, removing gum and other foreign matter as needed weekly.
• Dust wall units and shelving weekly.
• Clean heaters daily.
• Buff all common halls weekly at RA and GA locations. (Note: Do not buff KCA hallways. No wax or buff flooring is required for Basement Classrooms.)

Classroom, Office, and Specialty Room Cleaning:

• Empty trash cans, replace liners, and bring them to designated areas daily.
• Disinfect interior glass windows as needed daily.
• Vacuum carpeted areas daily.
• Sweep and spot mop with disinfectant daily.
• Shut off all lights daily.
• Disinfect doorknobs, handles, and light switches daily.

Cafeteria/Kitchen/Serving Area Cleaning:

• Clean and sanitize kitchen and food preparation areas daily.
• Empty trash receptacles, replace liners, and bring them to the designated area daily.
• Clean tables and chairs, and sweep and mop floors with disinfectant daily.

Gymnasium Cleaning:

• Sweep and mop the gym floor daily.
• Clean underneath the bleachers every other day.
• Disinfect all doorknobs, wall mats, and bleachers daily.
• Remove all trash from the gym area, including bleachers, daily.
• Disinfect the weight area/room daily.
