  • Sleep lab technologist provides care for patients undergoing sleep studies and sleep disorder treatment.
  • Job Requirements
  • 2 years of experience
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Basic Life Support
  • Registered as a Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) or equivalent.
  • Unit Specific Information
  • Duties: The sleep lab technologist will prepare for the arrival of the patient by setting up equipment for the ordered test.
  • Interview the patient to determine any sleep issues and explain the testing procedures to the patient.
  • Perform ordered test as well as any additional testing that may be needed
  • Educates patients about test results, sleep disorders, community support groups, and available resources.
  • Prepare, calibrate, repair, and maintain equipment required for testing.
  • Determines and reports needed repairs and replacements.
  • Score, interpret, and report results of sleep studies
  • Recognizes, documents, and reports all unusual patient response to treatment or testing.
  • Consistently follow all department policies and procedures.
  • All other duties as assigned
