Job Summary As a Store Manager you are the operational leader of the dispensary. You’ll oversee day‑to‑day functions, drive sales growth, ensure compliance, and lead a team of budtenders and supervisors to deliver outstanding customer experiences. Your success in this role helps shape our brand, ensures customer loyalty, and keeps the store compliant and profitable. Key ResponsibilitiesSales & Business Performance Drive store profitability by executing retail strategies, achieving sales targets, and managing labor and payroll expenses. Use reports (P&L, financial, operational, guest feedback) to inform business decisions. Monitor key business trends, identify growth opportunities, and drive seasonal/weekly promotional campaigns. Build a store culture focused on customer retention and loyalty. Analyze local competition and customer behavior to adapt product offerings and promotions. Hire, train, and retain a high‑performing team of hourly staff, budtenders, and shift leads. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and fun. Conduct coaching sessions, issue PIPs, and manage corrective actions when needed. Lead team meetings to communicate goals, product updates, compliance reminders, and safety protocols. Schedule staff according to business needs and California labor regulations. Cross‑train team members for flexibility and coverage. Operational Excellence Oversee all store operations including opening/closing duties, register reconciliation, and cash handling. Ensure a clean, organized, and customer‑ready store environment at all times. Ensure accurate and timely reporting of daily activity to upper management (e.g., vendor visits, customer issues, deliveries, safety concerns). Maintain store communication through systems like WhatsApp, Slack, or internal tools. Inventory & Product Management Manage product intake, restocking, daily cycle counts, and monthly inventory audits. Track sell‑through rates, monitor expiration dates, and manage returns and quarantines.Ensure barcode accuracy, product labels, and compliance data are correct. Lead visual merchandising: update displays, remove sold‑out items, and set promotional product displays. Systems & Technology Oversee and resolve issues within Metrc (e.g., integration errors, tag finalization, order intakes). Manage Dutchie menus, product uploads, and online order processing. Ensure accuracy across third‑party platforms like Weedmaps, Dutchie, and the company website. If applicable, oversee store social media content and promotions. Compliance & Safety Ensure strict compliance with all California cannabis laws, regulations, and company policies. Lead by example in following all safety and security protocols. Monitor ID checks, product packaging requirements, and employee conduct on the floor. Maintain compliance documentation and respond promptly to audits or inspections. Requirements Minimum 2 years of retail management experience (Store Manager or Assistant Manager level). Cannabis retail experience required (1+ years preferred). Must be 21+ years old with a valid California driver’s license. High school diploma or GED required; college coursework preferred. Strong leadership, team‑building, and conflict resolution skills. Proficient in POS systems, Metrc, Dutchie, and inventory management tools. Strong understanding of California cannabis regulations and compliance practices. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and work on your feet for extended periods.
