*Job Description*

*Reports to:* Director of Cardiovascular Services

*Summary:*

Performs all aspects of the Diagnostic and Procedure LPN under the direction of the Cardiologist. This includes but is not limited to: taking accurate verbal patient histories, starting IVs to administer stress or contrast agents, monitoring and providing care for patients undergoing diagnostic CT scans and supporting all other modalities as necessary, working in our patient monitoring department. Provides support in the procedure area as needed with patient prepping and sedations and recovery. This position will also be responsible for spearheading our Chronic Care Management Program. Maintains a positive working environment for our patients and staff.

*Requirements:*
* LPN licensed in the State of Wisconsin
* BLS
* Effective verbal and written skills

*Responsibilities:*
* Provides patient care that meets the growth and development, cultural diversity, and special needs appropriate to the patient population served
* Knowledge of use of gait belts, slide and pivot boards, and Hoyer lifts.
* Effective communication skills with patients to obtain detailed patient histories.
* Good organization skills and effective communication skills with other members of the team.
* Proficient IV starts/injections.
* Maintains patient care, comfort, dignity, safety and confidentiality at all times.
* Preps patient for Diagnostic CT scans, including IV starts, Beta Blocking, renal protection, and allergy protection.
* Assists the CT, Echo and Nuclear Department as needed.
* Provides RN support in the procedure area, including help with all procedures as needed.
* Maintains our Chronic Care Management program.
* Interacts as a professional with Cardiologists, management, clerical staff, and patients.
* Maintains technical competency through continued education.
* Reviews/explains the procedure to the patient and answers all patient questions.
* Performs equipment quality checks and troubleshoots problems. Calls for service and notifies all pertinent team members, including the Director.
* Maintains a clean and safe working environment.
* Perform EKGs, download and stock EKG machine
* Help in other departments as necessary.
* Assist other health care providers in an emergency situation.
* Maintaining a neat and clean work area
* Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, and organizational in-services.
* Complies with all practice policies and procedures, state, and federal regulations
* Demonstrate proficiency in use of office equipment (EKG machine, copier, fax, etc)
* Ability to use computer system to obtain patient information, update data, and check messages.
* Knowledge of use of gait belts, slide and pivot boards, and Hoyer lifts.
* Effective communication skills with patients to obtain detailed patient histories
* Complete all necessary learnings as assigned by HVW.
* Performs additional duties as required or assigned.

*Physical Requirements*
* Frequent walking, sitting, bending and standing for extended periods of time.
* Occasionally lifting and carrying items up to 30lbs.
