School Psychology Tenure Track Open-Rank Professor

The University of Massachusetts Amherst is seeking qualified candidates to join the dedicated and accomplished community of faculty, students, and staff in the School Psychology Program in the College of Education. We are currently accepting applications for one open rank tenure track professor position. The School Psychology Program offers comprehensive training that leads to Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) and Doctoral (Ph.D.) degrees, which are fully accredited by NASP and APA. Located in the beautiful Pioneer Valley of Western Massachusetts, the University of Massachusetts Amherst is the flagship campus of the Commonwealth’s university system and is a leading center of public higher education in the Northeast. The School Psychology Program is seeking applicants who have expertise in core areas of school-based psychological services, including ecologically-oriented assessment practices and quantitative research methodology. Ideal candidates will prioritize an eco-behavioral, solution-focused framework that prioritizes a social justice orientation and centers cultural diversities for access to equitable educational opportunities. Specific areas of specialization are unspecified but will complement the research of current UMass Amherst faculty. Essential Functions Tenure track faculty at the University of Massachusetts are employed for 9-month contracts with opportunities to engage in additional teaching, research, and community service during summer months and intersessions. Tenure track faculty are expected to teach two courses each semester, maintain a robust student advising caseload, have an active research and scholarship agenda that includes procuring external funding, and providing service related to their expertise to the college, university, and community. This position will include the service responsibilities required of the APA- Director of Clinical training that will include collaborating with program faculty to coordinate the cohesive curriculum of our doctoral program and help manage the data collection and reporting procedures that are required of nationally accredited school psychology programs, such as ours. Course load adjustments will be negotiated for workload equity. Successful candidates will have demonstrated leadership in the field of School Psychology and will be able to assume the role of Director of Clinical Training for our APA-approved doctoral program. Ideally candidates will also demonstrate a strong systematic line of research, have experience supervising graduate student research and field-based clinical training, and have an excellent record of teaching graduate courses in School Psychology. Successful applicants will have earned a doctorate in School Psychology from an APA-accredited program and be a licensed Health Service Provider or license-eligible in Massachusetts. They will have a record of program leadership, quality empirical research with a record of disseminating scholarship through presentations and publications, and a successful teaching record. Successful candidates will have experience working with children and youth in educational settings and have experiences supervising graduate student research and field-based training experiences. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure) Earned doctorate in School Psychology from an APA-accredited program. Licensed as a Health Service Provider, or license-eligible in the state of Massachusetts. Demonstrate a strong line of research related to the field of school psychology. Have experience supervising graduate student research and field-based clinical training. Experience teaching graduate courses in School Psychology. Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure) Currently a tenure-track faculty in an APA-accredited school psychology training program.
