Located in Templeton amongst the oak trees, Adventist Health Twin Cities has been serving northern San Luis Obispo County since 1977. Comprised of a 122-bed acute care facility, our team provides exceptional care in emergency medicine, orthopedics, obstetrics, digestive disorders, wound care, and various medical, surgical and outpatient services. Locals enjoy weekly farmers markets in downtown Templeton, farm-to-fork dining, beautiful landscapes for hiking and biking, and beach days just fifteen minutes away at Cambria and Morro Bay.
POSITION SUMMARY:
This is a union-based role represented by CNA. Perform the professional functions of a Registered Nurse in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of preoperative and procedural patients. Responsible for interviewing, documenting and gathering of patient history, medications and pre-op testing. Responsible for facilitating diagnostic testing as ordered and as outlined by Anesthesia guidelines. Coordinate, manage, and collaborate with physicians and physician office staff regarding optimal preoperative requirements to support quality patient care and customer service goals. Function on call providing and evaluating patients for moderate sedation. Responsible for initiating preoperative and postoperative patient education.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education and Work Experience:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing: Required
- Two years' recent acute care RN experience (Med/Surg or Telemetry): Required
- Two years' recent RN experience in PeriAnesthesia and/or Preoperative Admitting: Preferred
Licenses and Certifications:
- Current California RN License: Required
- Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association: Required
- ACLS certification within 30 days of hire: Required
ORGANIZATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
