Description ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Sweeps, mops, vacuums, scrubs and/or shampoos surfaces, specifically: floors, carpets, and walls located in hallways, stairs, office space, events space, and restrooms;Strips, waxes, buffs floor surfaces; Cleans, dusts and polishes furniture, equipment, artwork, fixtures, surfaces and trim; Cleans blinds, window, and air vents; Cleans, deodorizes and disinfects restrooms; Maintains supply levels of paper and soap products in restrooms; Cleans and disinfects water fountains and kitchen equipment; Empties trash and garbage containers and replaces trash liners; Picks up/disposes of garbage from ground areas; Transports garbage to designated garbage receptacle; Disposes of hazardous waste per established procedures; Utilizes and maintains equipment, specifically: floor buffers, mop buckets, wet vacuums, vacuum cleaners, mops, brooms, ladders, and cleaning supplies; Sets up tables, chairs, and equipment as requested on rental agreement forms; Unlocks or locks facilities at the beginning or end of shift; Responds to routine requests for service from staff, officials, and the public; Must accomplish the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations, in a timely manner; Performs other related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of proper use, care, and operation of a variety of cleaning and related custodial equipment; Ability to operate a variety of custodial equipment including a buffer, vacuum, blower, brooms, mops, ladder, and basic hand tools; Ability to read and comprehend facility policies and procedures; Ability to speak with and/or signal people to convey or exchange information, including giving/receiving assignments and/or directors to/from co-workers, managers, or supervisors as well as communicating with the general public; Ability to make independent judgments in absence of supervision; Ability to record and deliver information, to explain procedures, and to follow verbal and written instructions; Ability to coordinate hands and eyes in using custodial equipment; Ability to handle a variety of items, custodial equipment, control knobs, switches, etc.; Ability to deal with and relate to people beyond giving and receiving instructions; Must be able to adapt to and perform under minimal stress when confronted with an emergency; Ability to meet physical demand requirements at levels of those for moderate work. Willing to work nonstandard hours.
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or equivalent; Must possess and maintain a valid Alabama Driver's License.
