RN Cardiovascular Job Summary and Responsibilities The registered nurse is responsible for taking primary responsibility to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the nursing care of each assigned patient. The role includes providing direct patient care, supervising the activities of nursing staff members, anticipating patients' needs, following up on all care‑related activities, and ensuring all physician orders are accurately transcribed and carried out in a timely manner. The RN coordinates the plan of care, conducts patient teaching specific to the disease entity and home management, and actively participates in assuring a care continuum. Additionally, the nurse collaborates with other nursing and ancillary services to assure seamless communication and uninterrupted patient care, models leadership behaviors, fosters a spirit of collaboration and teamwork, and mentors peers and colleagues. Job Requirements 1 year of operating room/surgical and 1 year cardiovascular experience, including but not limited to CABG surgery, OFF pump and ON pump. Coronary bypass grafts, aortic dissections, valve replacements, TVAR (Thoracic Endovascular Aortic Repair), and redo cardiac surgeries. 2 years of operating/surgical experience; if operational conditions permit, training a candidate without the required experience may be considered. Education level necessary to obtain required licensure and certifications. CA RN, BLS, and ACLS required. BSN and PALS preferred. In addition, the hospital offers a beautiful Family Care and Birthing Center, the Lauren Small Children’s Center including the area’s only Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, a Family Care Center, a Level II NICU, the Sarvanand Heart and Brain Center with Kern County’s first Bi‑Plane Interventional Suite, the Center for Wound Care and Hyperbarics, and many more services.
