- Experience or training in industrial safety practices
- Experience or training in sign production

**Job Description:**
- Perform all activities associated with the fabrication, production, and distribution of highway signs.
- Produce sign blanks from aluminum or salvaged material
- Utilize computer and perform reclamation activities
- Apply reflective sheeting and assemble all extruded signs
- Conduct all silk screen activities, layout activities, and silk screen fabrication
- Read blueprints and sort, stack, load, and unload materials
- Lift and transport sign blanks and other materials
- Pack and distribute signs, and store completed signs and materials

- Operate forklift and various equipment utilized in the sign production process, including but not limited to:
- Shear machines, punch press, and squeeze roll applicators
- Automatic and manual silkscreen equipment
- Radial arm, band and table saws, drill press, and related hand tools
- Overhead crane

- Utilize appropriate safety equipment such as respirators, masks, and gloves in accordance with established safety practices
- Maintain quality control in all processes
- Establish order and priority of sign orders; produce special projects like banners, decals, and signage
- Perform miscellaneous related duties including maintaining inventory control of materials used in sign production, and sweeping and cleaning the shop area

**Major Worker Characteristics:**
- Knowledge of industrial safety practices associated with sign fabrication and production
- Understanding of mathematics, including fractions, decimals, and percentages
- Skill in silk screen printing process and sheet metal work
- Ability to operate silk screen equipment, shearing punch press, plate press, radius machines, drills, rivet guns, vacuum and squeeze roll applications, vacuum frame, and exposure lamp
- Ability to solve practical, everyday problems and read and understand blueprints
- Demonstrate dexterity to use hands skillfully and maintain accurate records
