This high‑profile position will be responsible for enhancing and protecting the company’s reputation by creating and amplifying the thought leadership of our top-ranking executives on issues affecting the electric power industry. You will demonstrate proactive partnership with the top‑level leadership team. You must bring strategic thinking, strong communications experience, and be passionate about creating impactful content that informs, engages, and inspires. The role includes creating primary and secondary messages based on executive strategic pillars, establishing an authentic voice in executive communications, developing social media strategy, and serving as PIO during Incident Management Team activations and after hours on a rotational basis. Responsibilities Lead strategic execution of communications strategy and measure its effectiveness. Drive communications that inform and educate, and, when needed, manage risk and mitigate crises. Lead editorial development to establish a continuous and optimized presence across platforms. Translate business goals into communications strategies, tactics, and messaging. Identify opportunities to share success stories about major initiatives and company priorities. Provide strategic advice, counsel, and develop standard work processes. Recommend and create specific communications materials such as blogs, op‑eds, fact sheets, site copy, and key messages/talking points. Maintain the highest standards of conduct and integrity in protecting physical, financial, and cybersecurity assets. Minimum Qualifications Ten or more years of experience in corporate communications within a corporate and/or agency environment. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or higher in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Business, or a related field. Experience in storytelling and implementing content strategy for digital properties. Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite, SharePoint, Viva Engage, Adobe Photoshop, and web‑based email delivery tools. A track record of meeting deadlines and managing multiple competing priorities simultaneously in a complex, fast‑paced environment. Experience communicating across different company levels, including customers, clients, colleagues, and executives. Experience connecting complex business strategies with impactful communications. Strategic problem‑solver, self‑starter, and highly creative in finding new ways to achieve team goals. Excellent written and oral communication skills with strong attention to detail. Additional Information This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Employees are required to work and reside in the state of California unless otherwise noted. There may be a writing assessment as part of the interview process.
