The ideal candidate will conduct technology evaluations assessing the feasibility of proposed concepts, develop requirements documents and statements-of-work to support the internal customers’ business needs, design and implement efficient technical solutions, evaluate, test, and certify all software and hardware technologies prior to pilot and production release, provide maintenance support including managing on-going changes and/or enhancements throughout the life of the system, develop short- and long-term technology plans driven by the internal customers’ business needs.Job Title: Senior System Engineer and TesterStart Date: 07/21/25Location: Onsite in Merrifield VADuration: One year plus annual extensionsSenior System Engineer and TesterOur US Government customer is looking for a Senior System Engineer and Tester to join our Engineering, Delivery & Mobile Technology team to support one of our customers. The selected candidate will conduct technology evaluations assessing the feasibility of proposed concepts, develop requirements documents and statements-of-work to support the internal customers’ business needs, design and implement efficient technical solutions, evaluate, test, and certify all software and hardware technologies prior to pilot and production release, provide maintenance support including managing on-going changes and/or enhancements throughout the life of the system, develop short- and long-term technology plans driven by the internal customers’ business needs.ResponsibilitiesResponsible for overseeing the systems development life cycle (SDLC) process including business needs analysis, requirement gathering, information system architecture, design, integration, implementation, QA, deployment, and production maintenance.Create and maintain project plans and schedules, set milestones, assign resources, and identify/mitigate risks to ensure successful execution.Oversee activities of vendors providing hardware and software solutions related to the project.Coordinate major releases with local and remote deployment support teams, as well as briefing customer group representatives on new features and changes.Interface with customer groups to understand business needs and drive effective requirements gathering.Manage iterations of design, implementation, and deployment efforts. Keep customers engaged to ensure that the final work product meets customer expectations.Review proposed new features and connectivity to provide feedback on feasibility and potential impactResponsible for synthesizing customer contractual needs and requirements into system test solutions that acknowledges technical, schedule and cost constraints.Develops and directs preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures and schedules for completing systems.Coordinates integrated testing activities.Reviews and evaluates test requirements to insure completeness of test program.Performs technical analysis of complete systems and prepares comprehensive system level evaluations.Develops, modifies, applies, and maintains standards for software quality operating methods, processes, systems and procedures.Conducts software inspection, testing, verification and validation.Implements software development and maintenance processes and methods.Ensures measures meet acceptable reliability standards.Develops overall operating criteria to ensure implementation of the software quality program according to project, process and contract requirements and objectives.Ensures that project and process control documentation are compliant with requirements, objectives and/or contract.Reviews software design, change specifications, and plans against contractual and/or process requirements.Reviews include applicable specifications, materials, tools, techniques, and methodologies.Performs or directs verification of software requirement allocations, traceability, and testability.Required Experience LevelA minimum of thirteen (13) years’ relevant experience.A degree from an accredited College/University in the applicable field of services is preferred. Four (4) additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a college degree is required.Experience with requirements analyzing and developing software requirements; software testing and experience in quality assurance in a software development environmentMust be proficient with SQL/Oracle SQL Developer.If the individual’s degree is not in the applicable field, then four additional years of related experience is required.Additional ProvisionsMust be able to obtain a Public Trust ClearancePass both a client mandated clearance process to include drug screening, criminal history check and credit check.All candidates must be a US Citizen or US Permanent Resident.Candidate must have lived in the United States for the past 5 years.Cannot have more than 6 months travel outside the United States within the last five years. Military Service excluded.
