Board of Directors Member, All In Energy Do you want to advance racial and economic justice while tackling climate change? Join the Board of Directors of an innovative young nonprofit organization, All In Energy, working to expand access to climate solutions and green jobs across the Commonwealth. Our mission is to accelerate an inclusive clean energy economy. We work hand-in-hand with cities and local community organizations to connect communities of color, Spanish-speakers and renters to energy‑saving programs and affordable renewable energy. These programs help families save money, make their homes healthier, and combat climate change. We are also increasing green career opportunities for people of color, multilingual individuals and women. We are seeking passionate, committed individuals to join our Board of Directors. Our Board of Directors oversees the fiscal health of the organization, advises organizational leadership on strategic decisions, evaluates the executive director(s), and ensures the organization is fulfilling its mission. Board members are volunteers and serve on 3‑year terms with the potential for renewal. Key Responsibilities Serve as Advisor to the Organization Attend and actively participate in board meetings, having reviewed materials provided in advance. The full Board typically meets every other month for a 90‑minute Zoom meeting, and once annually in person. Serve on a board committee (finance, governance or fundraising to start out) and fulfill committee duties to support the success of the organization. This typically includes meeting bimonthly on Zoom (in alternating months with full Board meetings) with some materials review or collaboration in between meetings. Provide timely feedback and guidance to the organization’s leadership drawing on your professional expertise. Build the All In Energy Network Serve as an advocate for All In Energy within your networks to make useful connections and raise funds. Stay abreast of the organization’s progress and work so you can contribute at board meetings and be an effective spokesperson. Be willing to speak with All In Energy staff about your career trajectory to boost the exposure of our team to opportunities in the field. There may also be opportunities to serve as a mentor to All In Energy staff. Support Fundraising Efforts Donate a personally significant gift each year you serve on the board of directors. We expect that All In Energy will be within your top 1‑3 charitable contributions of the year. Connect All In Energy to others who can give. Desired Qualifications Passionately embraces the mission of All In Energy, with a strong commitment to addressing climate change, equitable clean energy access, and/or economic and environmental justice. 10‑15 hours available per month, on average, to contribute to work with All In Energy. 3+ years relevant professional experience, such as in energy efficiency, renewable energy, workforce training, outreach, community organizing, municipal partnerships, energy policy, organizational diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts, nonprofit board, etc. Relevant professional expertise, such as nonprofit finance/accounting, legal, nonprofit fundraising (foundations, individuals, government), human resources, business development, and/or diversity, equity and inclusion. Experience working in communities of color, low‑to‑moderate income communities, and/or multilingual communities (emphasis on Spanish‑speaking and Portuguese‑speaking communities). Experience with, or willing to learn the skills for, fundraising. Willingness to engage personal networks to support All In Energy’s mission.
