This role is pivotal in transitioning OBHG’s workforce model from reactive scheduling to proactive optimization — ensuring consistent, cost-effective, and reliable clinician coverage across our hospital programs. As a strategic partner across Finance, Operations, and Clinical Leadership, you will design and execute data-driven labor models that optimize shift fill rates, clinician utilization, and scheduling predictability. Your leadership will directly impact OBHG’s growth, profitability, and service reliability. Key Responsibilities Strategic Cost Optimization Lead enterprise analysis of OBHG’s clinical labor spend (employed, contracted, and locum providers). Identify cost drivers and implement initiatives to reduce premium labor, overtime, and unfilled shift penalties. Develop a unified labor cost model to guide staffing and scheduling decisions. Workforce Planning and Scheduling Efficiency Establish standardized metrics for fill rate, provider utilization, and schedule optimization. Implement advanced scheduling tools, AI forecasting models, and predictive analytics to balance cost, coverage, and clinican satisfaction. Collaborate with Clinical Leadership to improve proactive staffing and minimize last-minute shift gaps. Champion continuous improvement in the use of scheduling to optimize clinican deployment. Operational Intelligence and Analytics Partner with Finance to build and maintain labor performance dashboards (fill rate, cost per shift, overtime %, premium labor spend, etc.). Conduct root cause analyses for high-cost or underperforming hospital programs and implement corrective actions. Lead cost-benefit analyses for staffing models, shift incentives, and workforce initiatives. Translate data into actionable insights for executive and regional leaders. Partnership and Change Leadership Collaborate closely with Regional leadership and Scheduling teams to operationalize workforce optimization strategies. Lead cross-functional task forces to redesign processes that drive down cost per clinical hour while maintaining reliability. Communicate trade-offs clearly between cost, coverage, and clinical quality. Influence a culture of disciplined labor management across OBHG’s national network. Qualifications Required: 5+ years of experience in workforce management, labor optimization, or operational analytics in healthcare, logistics, or similar industries. Proven track record of reducing labor costs, premium spend, or improving fill rate performance. Proficiency with forecasting tools, scheduling systems, and data visualization platforms (Power BI, Tableau). Strong quantitative and analytical problem-solving skills with experience presenting to senior leadership. Demonstrated success leading cross-functional optimization projects and driving measurable outcomes. Preferred: Experience within healthcare operations, hospital staffing, or physician workforce management. Advanced degree (MBA, MHA, or similar).
