Department of Physics Lecturer Pool 2025-2026 Location: San Diego, San Diego State University – College of Sciences Job Type: Temporary/Instructional Faculty – Full‑time and part‑time appointments available Job Description The Department of Physics is accepting applications for a part‑time and full‑time lecturer pool. Candidates will be invited to teach a variety of introductory and advanced lecture and laboratory courses. Temporary appointments may be full‑ or part‑time, with part‑time positions typically created shortly before a term begins. Fall term starts mid‑August and ends late‑December; spring term starts mid‑January and ends mid‑May, with potential summer session teaching opportunities. Initial appointments are usually one semester or one academic year, renewable contingent on satisfactory evaluations and continued availability. Areas of Expertise Applied Physics Theoretical Physics Computational Physics Physics‑related fields Qualifications Graduate degree in physics or a closely related field. Salary Information Lecturer A: $5,507 - $6,677 Lecturer B: $6,221 - $13,224 Lecturer C: $6,825 - $14,523 Lecturer D: $8,593 - $15,211 As per Education Code 89521, applicants must disclose any final administrative or judicial decision within the last seven years determining that the applicant committed sexual harassment.
